Adyen Payment Terminal battery and charging issues
Learn how to troubleshoot power-related issues on Adyen payment terminals.
Indicators
- The payment terminal doesn't charge properly or doesn't charge at all
- The battery isn’t charging
- The payment terminal doesn’t turn on
Common causes
- The battery needs a replacement
- The charger may be faulty
- The power connector on the payment terminal may be faulty
Troubleshooting
To troubleshoot the issue, follow the steps below:
Battery issue
- Check if the payment terminal has been charged properly.
- Make sure that the terminal is charged for at least 30 minutes before you start using it.
- If the battery is still not charging, try connecting the terminal to a different charger.
- Remove the battery from the payment terminal.
Note: This step applies to terminals that have a removable battery.- From the back of the payment terminal, remove the battery cover.
- Take out the battery.
- Check that the space between the battery connector and the terminal is clear of dust and debris.
- Put the battery back in the payment terminal.
- Restart the payment terminal. To do this, press and hold the Confirm button for at least three seconds.
- Charge the battery using a different charger. If the battery still doesn't charge, contact Eats365 ServiceDesk.
- Replace the battery.
Note: This step applies to terminals that have a removable battery.- From the back of the payment terminal, remove the battery cover.
- Take out the battery.
- Replace the old battery with a new one.
- Restart the payment terminal. To do this, press and hold the Confirm button for at least three seconds.
- Charge the replacement battery using a different charger. If the problem persists after installing a new battery with a full charge, your payment terminal may need to be replaced.
Charger issue
- Check the charger.
- Check whether the charger works with other similar payment terminals.
- Check that the connectors on the charger and the payment terminal are clear of dust or debris.
- Restart the payment terminal. To do this, you may do any of the following:
- Turn off the terminal, then turn it on again.
- For tethered terminals or terminals without a battery: open the "Admin" menu and select Reboot. You may also unplug and reconnect the power cord.
- For payment terminals with a removable battery: press and hold the Confirm button for at least three seconds.
- Check whether the charger is now charging the battery.
Issue not resolved
