Configure Customer Facing Display settings
Learn how to customize settings for the Customer Facing Display.
Changing the settings on the Customer Facing Display (CFD) allows you to customize the app’s layout and behavior to tailor its look and function to suit your business. This allows you to strategically display promotions to boost sales, provide clear order confirmations for customer trust, and integrate with loyalty programs or digital payments for a streamlined checkout experience.
In this article, you’ll learn how to configure the Customer Facing Display to your preferred settings.
Change individual CFD settings
To change specific settings on a Customer Facing Display, follow the steps below:
- Log in to the Eats365 POS.
- At the top left, tap Settings
. - Under "General," tap Device Pairing
Customer Facing Display. - Select the CFD device you want to update, then change the options according to your preferences.
- At the top right, tap Save to confirm.
You can change the following options on the Customer Facing Display:
Display Language
Set the default display language to your preferred language.
Theme
Choose if you want the Customer Facing Display theme to use Dark mode or Light mode.
Change shared CFD settings
Shared settings are functions that are applied across all Customer Facing Displays. You can configure shared settings in the Merchant Portal.
To configure the CFD’s shared settings, follow the steps below:
Merchant Portal (Classic Theme)
- Log in to the Merchant Portal.
- On the left panel, click on Advanced Settings.
- Under Modules, select Customer Facing Display. Then, click on Shared Settings.
- Select if you want to display existing Item images on shuffle or show custom images.
- To show custom images, a Media Group must be set up. For more information, refer to Set up and manage Media Group.
- To show menu item images on shuffle, you must turn on permission for Photo Shuffle for all Items. For more information, refer to Set up and manage a Single Item or Set up and manage a Combo Item.
- At the top right, click on Save to confirm.
Merchant Portal 2.0
- Log in to the Merchant Portal.
- On the left panel, click on Modules
Customer Facing Display. - Select Shared Settings.
- Select if you want to display existing Item images on shuffle or show custom images.
- To show custom images, a Media Group must be set up. For more information, refer to Set up and manage Media Group.
- To show menu item images on shuffle, you must turn on permission for Photo Shuffle for all Items. For more information, refer to Set up and manage a Single Item or Set up and manage a Combo Item.
- To show custom images, a Media Group must be set up. For more information, refer to Set up and manage Media Group.
- At the top right, click on Save to confirm.
Configure the Customer Facing Display to show custom content
To show custom images on the Customer Facing Display, follow the steps below:
Merchant Portal (Classic Theme)
- Log in to the Merchant Portal.
- On the left panel, click on Restaurant Settings
Media Promotion. - Create a media promotion and upload the images that you want to appear on the Customer Facing Display.
Note: For information on how to create a media promotion, refer to Set up and manage Media Group. - On the left panel, click on Advanced Settings.
- Under Modules, select Customer Facing Display.
- Click on Shared Settings.
- Next to Media Group, select Custom Upload as your preferred media to show on the Customer Facing Display.
- At the top right, click on Save to confirm.
- On the left panel, click on License.
- Next to the Customer Facing Display that you want to use to show custom images, click on Edit.
- Click on the Media tab.
- Under Display Mode, select how the image would appear on the Customer Facing Display.
- Select the images that you would like to show on the Customer Facing Display.
- At the top right, click on Save to confirm.

- Log in to the Merchant Portal.
- On the left panel, click on Restaurant Settings

- Next to "Media Group," select Custom Upload as your preferred media to show on the Customer Facing Display.
- At the top right, click on Save to confirm.
- On the left panel, click on License.
- Next to the Customer Facing Display that you want to use to show custom images, click on Edit

- Click on the Media tab.
- Under "Display Mode," select how the image would appear on the Customer Facing Display.
- Select the images that you would like to show on the Customer Facing Display.
- At the top right, click on Save to confirm.
