Set up a tax-inclusive menu
Learn how to create a tax-inclusive environment to include taxes in your menu items’ total price.
The Eats365 POS allows you to set up a tax-inclusive environment, where taxes are seamlessly incorporated into your menu prices. For instance, if a menu item is priced at $100 with a 3% tax rate, the price breakdown would be as follows:

In this article, you’ll learn how to create a tax-inclusive environment to automatically include taxes in your menu items’ total price.
Enable Tax Inclusive setting
To create a tax-inclusive environment, the “Tax Inclusive” feature must be enabled. To do this, follow the steps below:
- Log in to the Merchant Portal.
- On the left panel, click on Restaurant Settings.
- Click on Basic Information. Then, select, Restaurant Information.
- Under “Tax Settings,” enable Tax Inclusive .
- At the top right, click on Save to confirm.
Set up taxes
To create tax rates that can be added to menu items, follow the steps below:
Eats365 POS
- Log in to the Eats365 POS.
- At the top left, tap Settings .
- Under “Settings,” tap Taxes.
- Select Tax Type. Then, create a new tax type. For detailed information about creating a tax type, refer to Set up and manage Taxes.
- Select Tax Group. Then, create a new tax group. For detailed information about creating a tax group, refer to Set up and manage Taxes.
Merchant Portal (Classic Theme)
- Log in to the Merchant Portal.
- On the left panel, click on Taxes.
- Click on Tax Type. Then, create a new tax type. For detailed information about creating a tax type, refer to Set up and manage Taxes.
- Click on Tax Group. Then, create a new tax group. For detailed information about creating a tax group, refer to Set up and manage Taxes.
Merchant Portal 2.0
- Log in to the Merchant Portal.
- On the left panel, click on Taxes.
- Click on Tax Type. Then, create a new tax type. For detailed information about creating a tax type, refer to Set up and manage Taxes.
- Click on Tax Group. Then, create a new tax group. For detailed information about creating a tax group, refer to Set up and manage Taxes.
Set up a tax-inclusive item
To create a tax-inclusive item, follow the steps below:
Eats365 POS
- Log in to the Eats365 POS.
- At the top left, tap Settings .
- Under “General,” tap Menu Setup. Then, tap Item.
- At the top right, tap Add Item.
- Select the item type that you want to create. You can choose from Single Item or Combo Item.
- Configure the item’s settings based on your preference. For more information, refer to the following articles:
- Next to “Tax Group,” select the tax group associated with the tax rate that applies to the item.
- At the top right, tap Save to confirm.
Merchant Portal (Classic Theme)
- Log in to the Merchant Portal.
- On the left panel, click on Menu Setup. Then, select Item.
- Select if you want to create a Dine-in & Takeout item or a Catering item.
- At the top right, select the item type that you want to create. You can choose from +Single Item or +Combo Item.
- Configure the item’s settings based on your preference. For more information refer to the following articles:
- Next to “Tax Group,” select the tax group associated with the tax rate that applies to the item.
- At the top right, click on Save to confirm.

- Log in to the Merchant Portal.
- On the left panel, click on Menu Setup. Then, select Item.
- At the top right, select the item type that you want to create. You can choose from +Single Item or +Combo Item.
- Configure the item’s settings based on your preference. For more information refer to the following articles:
- Next to “Tax Group,” select the tax group associated with the tax rate that applies to the item.
- At the top right, click on Save to confirm.
Once the configuration is complete, the tax rate will automatically be calculated and included in the item’s total price.
